THE FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING was established by Pope Pius IX in 1925. The idea behind the feast goes back, of course, to the Gospels, but Pius IX wanted to remind us, when the world acts as if God did not exist, that we are entirely dependent on God for all that we have and are. He wanted this feast to be at the end of the Liturgical year as the summing-up of all the mysteries we have celebrated throughout the year: Christ’s Birth, public life, his Passion and Death, his Resurrection and his Ascension. By these mysteries Jesus has established, and show us clearly, his royal power: he is “the King of Kings and Crown of all Saints”.

IF YOU WISH A MASS TO BE SAID for either a relative or a friend, living or deceased, please see one of the priests.

If you are not able to get to Mass or if you are going into hospital, let Fr. Kazimierz know. If you notice someone you know from the church who has not been at Mass recently, please let us know.
