XX WORLD DAY OF THE SICK. Since 1992, the Catholic Church has celebrated World Day of the Sick on February 11, the day on which the Church commemorates the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. World Day of the Sick has three consistent themes: 1) It reminds the faithful to pray intensely and sincerely for those who are sick and elderly. 2) The celebration invites Christians to reflect on and respond to human suffering. 3) This day recognizes and honours all persons who work in health care and serve us.
We would like to invite all sick people, and those who suffer, or are afflicted by any form of infirmity, and those who take care of them in various ways, to SS. Mary and John church on Sunday 11th February at 4pm for a special Mass during which the Sacrament of the Sick will be celebrated. After Mass we will be praying the Holy Rosary, and offering it for all the sick and those that care for them, in front of the Exposed Blessed Sacrament. The Lourdes Blessing will finish our celebration.

Please inform all those that are sick and housebound, including your family members and neighbours about this event and please help them to get to Church. There will be refreshments in the hall following the service.
